XI International Congress on Man

Overview
This provides a forum to showcase audio-visual material relevant to CIMFAUNA and neo-tropical animal species. We hope that this video showcase will help authors to express themselves in a more relaxed way with reflective or humourous pieces (parodies or gentle critiques), visions of the future, research material and experiences which will intellectually engage the audience. Your video should include a captivating soundtrack and should be effectively paced. Accepted videos will be screened during the XICIMFAUNA Congress to all participants at a special session, and as such is one of the best means of information dissemination. Videos may show previously published work, however they must be appropriately cited. Videos will be archived in the ACM Digital Library.

Video Showcase
Requirements
There are 2 categories of videos, Full Videos, which can be up to 5 minutes in length (ideally 2-3 minutes) and Short Videos which should be a maximum of 75 seconds. Title and credits should not last for more than 10 seconds.

Third party material and copyright
Please ensure that you have rights to use all material (photographs, music, video, etc.) used in your video. The responsibility of attaining these permissions lies with the author and not the XICIMFAUNA Congress. The use of Creative Commons content is encouraged. Authors will be required to sign a copyright form allowing yoru video to be uploaded onto YouTube. Authors retain copyright of material.

Submission
Submission should be done via the relevant Abstract Submission form. The video should be playable on both Macintosh computers and standard PCs, and the video should be encoded as an MP4 using the H.264 codec. Video editing software such as Final Cut Pro and iMovie has such features, however, a sure alternative to ensure you video meets requirements is to upload to YouTube and download the encoded result. The resolution should be 720px x 480px with an aspect ratio of 16:9, and the size should not exceed 100 MB. A helpful tip is to encode your video using square pixels to avoid your movie looking stretched when projected.

Selection
This is a juried process will be based on the quality of production (which should be Youtube ready), how effectively the message is communicated and the level at which it will engage audience members. Poorly produced videos will not be taken into consideration. Acceptance is conditional and you may be asked to revise or edit your video according to feedback from the reviewing committee.
